Background:
Let me introduce myself...I am Craig Cox, the founder and owner of Arizona Gunteacher. I am retired from the City of Mesa, where I was Police/Fire Public Safety Dispatcher for 27 years, with a total of 35 years in the business.
I
have been involved in competitive shooting since age 9 when I started shooting rifle matches in Illinois. Upon arriving in Arizona a few years later, I continued to shoot rifle matches. I shot for the old Mesa Gun Club as a member of the junior rifle team, and had my name on many team trophies along with the other winning members of the team. I shot many smallbore rifle matches as well as high power matches as a junior. As an adult shooter, I have been on several club teams, as well as having shot as an individual. I have acted as coach for many of these teams. I have been shooting competitive handgun matches with semi automatics for several years, and have also started shooting competitive revolver matches .
Upon receiving my first certification as an NRA instructor at age 21, I taught many people the proper method of shooting, and have been doing so ever since. During the first part of 2003, I became an NRA Training Counselor, and now teach interested persons how to become a certified NRA instructor . I have trained 60 new NRA instructors in the last 3 years.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others so they too may enjoy the sport of shooting. I especially enjoy teaching women, and children how to shoot, because they are the future of the shooting sports.
See you at the range.
